O1 Office... Psalms

These are ancient Jewish prayers...and some of the most comforting words about God ever written.

The One enthroned in heaven laughs.

I will lie down and sleep in peace, for you alone, O Lord, make me dwell in safety.

The Lord has heard my cry for mercy; the Lord accepts my prayer.

For you, Lord, have never forsaken those who seek you.

But the needy will not always be forgotten.

I sing to the Lord, for he has been good to me.

Lord, you have assigned me my portion and my cup.

The boundary lines have fallen for me in pleasant places.

I have resolved that my mouth will not sin.

I love you, O Lord, my strength.

My God is my rock, in whom I take refuge.

I will sing praises to your name.

The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of his hands.

May the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be pleasing in your sight, Oh Lord, my Rock and my Redeemer.

Some trust in chariots and some in horses but we trust in the Lord.

To you, Oh Lord, I lift up my soul; in you I trust, O my God. Do not let me be put to shame, nor let my enemies triumph over me.

I walk continually in your truth.

Though my father and my mother forsake me, the Lord will receive me.

Be strong and take heart and wait on the Lord.

Hear my cry for mercy as I call to you for help.

Praise be to the Lord for he has heard my cry for mercy.

My heart leaps for joy and I will give thanks to him in song.

For his anger lasts only a moment, but his favor lasts a lifetime; weeping may remain for a night, but rejoicing comes in the morning.

Oh Lord, the God of Truth

Let your face shine on your servant

Blessed is he whose transgressions are forgiven, whose sins are covered

Surround me with songs of deliverance

Sing to him a new song; play skillfully and shout for joy

...humbled myself with fasting

Trust in the Lord and do good; dwell in the land and enjoy safe pasture
